Technology of DRI Respirometer determines the current rate of aerobic microbial activity of solid recovered fuels using the real dynamic respiration index (DRI).
The current rate of aerobic microbial activity measures the biological stability under the actual chemical and physical properties of solid recovered fuels.

Principles

DRI Respirometer measures O₂ to determine the activity of microorganisms in degradable  organic matter under defined continuous airflow and adiabatic conditions. The samples are measured in hermetically sealed vessels (adiabatic), which create controlled conditions  determined by EU and other norms.
